Donald Trump makes headlines once again. This time for allegedly calling nations such as Haiti "shithole countries" during DACA meeting...

Donald Trump has remained among the top news stories since prior to his election in 2016. He has made several ill advised remarks that have been under scrutiny ever since his election. We have all had a chance to sit back and play “Monday Morning Quarterback” as each one of his poor decisions have come across news and social media outlets. He has become infamous for his late night Tweets and has a tremendous following on Twitter going at nearly 50 million strong. It seems as though a lead political figure and leader of the free world has become synonymous with entertainment. Admittedly, these are not ideal characteristics of one to have for the leader of the strongest military forces in the world.
There have been month long criticisms over his thoughts on foreign policy and immigration. It appears as though he continues to make headlines even when the focus shifts to economic downturns. His latest remarks surrounded his statement of “shithole countries” during a meeting in which he rejected bipartisanism for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program. He also denied that he insisted that Haiti be removed from negotiations.
Herein cues the accusations that this was all put up by the Dems. “Liberal Dems” have been against Trump at every move and Hilary Clinton supporters seem to obviously want Donald Trump to fail a vast majority of the time. How is it that in 2018 we can have a country full of citizens who want the leader of our nation to fail? Regardless if you voted for the guy or not, it is apparent that if you are a citizen of this country you NEED to hope he does well and makes the right decision. I am certainly not saying that you have to become a Republican, however bipartisanism implies that we give and take from both sides. His social status notwithstanding, he has resources and power that no previous president has ever had. He has the ability to negotiate and go to limits never before imagined by any other presidential party. He definitely does not deserve a medal for merit and has questionable integrity at best. But let us blame it on the inherent brokenness of the “elected officials” where we had two to choose from. One was “the guy with the bad hair” and the other was the “lady with the email problems”.

If we truly believe in integration as a country we need to be considerate of one another. Consideration implies that we do not engage in actions that impedes on the well being of others. It is amazing to listen to the protests that occur regarding brutality and violence when the same protesters engage in violence and destruction to prove their point by rioting. It seems imperative that during a season of transition around the New Year that we all look to put the best foot forward and hope that our country succeeds. Why would any person want the leader of their country to fail? We cannot allow ourselves to give in to emotion, even though we may have a president that does. The old schoolyard analogy applies that we need to “be the bigger man” and instead of engaging the immoral ideologies we need to overcome them by rising above them all. Hey, just a though. Best of luck to all in 2018. Please comment and remain friendly on your views.
